Relief Sunday 2026: Courage and hope

February 1, 2026 marks the annual Relief Sunday. With the theme: MOED AND HOPE.

We live in a world that often seems dark: poverty, loneliness, mental distress, refugee problems. It is precisely here that we are called to be people of hope and courage. Hope which is not naive, but grounded in God's promises. And courage To keep seeing where others look away.

This year, as a congregation, you may again choose a project to collect for during Relief Sunday.

Reading further in the Bible? This year's topics include Joshua 1:9 and Matthew 14:27. The connecting story for the children is about David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17: 1-51).

Materials

Materials were sent to the diaconates in the first week of December.

Which project does your church collect for?

Choose which project you want to support and communicate your choice to us. Then the proceeds of your collection will go to that project.
You do not have to make a choice. Then, as in other years, the proceeds of your collection will go to the 'Relief Sunday' destination.

Auxiliary Sunday is held on the first Sunday in February. You can no longer submit your choice to us through this form. Please contact diaconaat@cgk.nl.
