Sharing the good news
What motivates us to tell the Gospel to those around us? As Christians, we have been given a calling to connect people with the Lord Jesus. In Matthew 28:16-20, He invites us to tell His good news to those who do not know Him. Not just for the fast talkers, the theologians, or the enthusiasts. No, all of us as followers of the Lord Jesus may bear witness to Him! 'Some of the disciples still had doubts,' it says in verse 17. In short, all of us are invited to share this good news! To bring people into contact with Him. Jesus announces there that His kingdom has definitely broken through: He has all power in heaven and on earth. And He will be with us. How does this motivate us, how does it set us in motion? Is it a nice story, or do we let ourselves be touched by it and take the plunge?
Dare to invite
Do you dare? Walk up to your colleague, neighbour, friend, or family member and say, "Hey, will you join me? Just for once. Who knows what effect it will have. It's about inviting, that we learn that again as Christians. And indeed, maybe the person will say: I'm not coming. But then we have made the invitation. And that counts.
Crazy isn't it? You can do this every Sunday, of course. But how often do we even do this? You may be thinking: 'To be honest, I have never taken anyone to the place I love so much every Sunday.'
Who do you invite?
Precisely to motivate each other, there is the church retreat. Because how often do we think about that, to step out of our habit of 'going by ourselves' and get up the nerve to take people to church? While it is the place where we ourselves are happy to taste something of God's goodness, where we are happy with the community we form.
So therefore the church tasting! A great opportunity to introduce someone close to you to the place that is so precious to you. Invite them to taste the silence, the words from the Bible, the community and... the coffee.
Unlike previous years, the Church Tastery is no longer organised nationwide on a fixed weekend. This gives churches the freedom to choose the Saturday or Sunday that best fits into their own schedule in order to provide even more customisation.
