In many ways, our projects are supported. Selina took the initiative to do so in her own way. Herewith her story.
I am Selina van der Vliet from Assen, 50 years old. I have been running for years. I wanted to run for a good cause for once, but what do you choose? I wanted a domestic and foreign charity where minimal money is left overheads. The goal of diaconate CGK seemed to suit this. In addition, I wanted it to be a small-scale project. The projects page of diaconate CGK almost gave me choice stress, because there were a lot of small-scale causes listed here. At first I had chosen Cambodia, but at the last minute I changed this, because this project was already planned. Therefore it became Peru, forest conservation and forest protection.
With this goal and the assistance dog foundation in mind, I ran up and down the VAM mountain for 12 hours on 13 May and got sponsored per lap or for a fixed amount. I wanted to raise €2,000, with €1,000 for each goal. The final amount was slightly under €4,000 because I ran more laps than expected, twenty-eight instead of seventeen. That's a total of 93 km and 2,700 altimeters.
I enjoyed doing it and hope to have contributed to a better world.
