In eastern Malawi, Diaconate CGK supports a Christian primary school. Here, 300 children receive education who would otherwise not be able to attend school. This is because the government is absent and cannot guarantee education.
Daily long journey
During a working visit, we as Diaconate visit the school and see how education is given. The teachers ask us a question. They are motivated for their task, but are on a long journey to school. They walk a distance ranging from six to 10 kilometres a day to school and back. This allows them to have contact with the children they teach, but comes on top of their other duties and caring for their families. The long travel distance is therefore sometimes unbearable.

Everyone a bicycle
Therefore, Diaconate on the spot pledges a bicycle to each teacher. This is received with great enthusiasm. In the course of this spring, it is arranged.
We received photos of the teachers with bicycles, accompanied by a heartfelt ‘thank you’. We would like to pass this on to you, who made this financially possible!
