During the summer months, many churches open their doors to guests and tourists. It is nice that people want to see the church building or are looking for meaning and spirituality. By placing a Bible box with free Bibles, we can also introduce visitors to the message of the Bible.
Bible in your own language
The wooden Bible box is a product of the Bible Society. The box has eight compartments and each compartment has space for 12 Bibles. Church visitors can take a Bible in their own language free of charge. As a church, you can thus offer Bibles in the languages of the visitors you receive without any obligation. There are more than 40 languages in stock.
Growing demand
Ad van Leeuwen, responsible for sending the Bible boxes, notices that the number of requests is increasing. "We do not realise enough that entire generations have grown up without any knowledge of the Bible. Yet we see that people do want to learn about the contents of the Bible.

Besides in churches, Bible boxes can of course be placed in diaconal centres, waiting rooms and silence centres. And more and more thrift shops have a Bible box.
The Bible Society is known for providing Bibles in hotels, prisons and care facilities. The Bible box is another way to raise awareness of the Bible. The Bible Society therefore calls on churches to place a Bible box.

Of course, Bibles cost money, yet they are offered free of charge. Diaconates, evangelism committees and private applicants often prove willing to contribute to the cost with a donation. Donations to the Bible Society are tax-deductible.
