Due to the departure of the current evangelist, the Hart voor West missionary church in Rotterdam is looking for a
evangelist (0.8 fte)
The congregation has about 100 stakeholders, 60 of whom are members. The congregation is closely linked to community centre Home in West, the social-diaconal project from which this missionary congregation originated. A missionary living community supports the work. The congregation falls under the ministerial responsibility of the Christian Reformed Church in Rotterdam-Charlois (ICF).
The evangelist we are looking for
- is a follower of Jesus and a man of prayer,
- knows himself called by the Lord to take up this work in Rotterdam,
- has at least an HBO degree in theology; specialisation or experience in missionary-diaconal work is a plus,
- has a diaconal-missionary heart and can give hands and feet to the Gospel in personal contacts,
- is able to engage in long-term and in-depth pastoral contact with ward residents when necessary,
- is someone who can move well between different cultures and backgrounds and effortlessly connect with dissenters in the multicultural neighbourhood,
- can bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ in an approachable way in Sunday celebrations, meaning groups and other contexts,
- is able to continue working with the team on what God has already done in Hart voor West and can provide leadership in continuing to build the Christian church from within the district,
- is willing to settle in the district,
- becomes enthusiastic about living in a missionary living community and can lead this community in pastoral care, in prayer and in the missionary task,
- Is a member of a Christian Reformed church or is willing to become one.
