Friday 5 September 2025 The Witte Kerk in Naarden was full of guests, church members and family members of Rev Arjan and Maartje Droger. That evening, Rev A.J. Droger was attached as pastor to the congregation of Ouderkerk a/d Amstel - Naarden and sent out as missionary pastor for the Gooise Meren region.
The municipality of Naarden is a small congregation, which nevertheless did not want to close its doors. In doing so, a place where the gospel was proclaimed would be lost in this secular region. She became a district congregation of Ouderkerk a/d Amstel and could survive in this way. But the desire was bigger than that: Naarden wanted to become a sending congregation for Rev Droger as missionary pastor.
Arjan and Maartje Droger join the Interchurch Knowledge Centre (IKC). Together with deputies Evangelisation the work will be developed.
The service was led by missionary consultant Rev Peter L.D. Visser and Rev Cees J. Droger. Rev Visser preached on Acts 10:28 - Peter converted to God's missionary work. Afterwards, confirmation and transmission was performed by Rev. Droger senior.
Rev Droger was addressed by Bert Kalkman of the IKC, by Rev Peter Visser as missionary consultant of the CGK, by Rev Bart van Vliet as consultant and on behalf of the Amsterdam classis and by elder Jaap Mauritz on behalf of the church council.
