Hart voor IJmuiden is urgently looking for a missionary pioneer, possibly in a dual role with Hart voor Velserbroek. This young pioneering place wants to connect people from a Christian point of view. Heart for IJmuiden should be a place where everyone feels welcome.
The tasks of the pioneer
You invest in personal contacts, build new relationships and connect people from the neighbourhood. You help to further shape the faith community with team members and neighbourhood residents and are part of that faith community yourself. To ensure that the work runs smoothly and is well known, you participate in local initiatives to connect people in the neighbourhood. You liaise with government agencies, welfare organisations and other institutions. You communicate throughout this process with the team and the churches involved.
The profile of the pioneer
As a missionary pioneer, you have a living faith in God and the Bible is the foundation in your life. You are an enterprising person in the social field as well as in business. You dare to leave the beaten track. You also possess the power to connect in contacts, the team, Christian organisations and beyond.
The pioneer is someone who:
- Has a relevant theological education, preferably at HBO level;
- has sufficient relevant knowledge and experience of pioneering/missionary work;
- has organisational talent;
- lives or wants to live in IJmuiden or the surrounding area and is part of the community;
- has the right dose of people skills to see with heart and ears where needs lie and act accordingly;
- is young at heart, with a healthy dose of resilience;
- interdenominational work, both within the team and outside;
- realises that the nature of the work involves spreading activities over the day and evening, during the working week and weekends, and has no problems with flexible working hours.
The offer to the pioneer
You will be working in IJmuiden working with teams of motivated volunteers and with various churches and organisations.
The number of hours is negotiable. Think twenty to twenty-four hours. Also HartvoorVelserbroek seeks missionary pioneer, a dual role is therefore negotiable.
You will have a contract for one year initially, with the intention to extend.
Salary and conditions of employment are as per the applicable pay scales of church employee.
