For diaconates, Diaconate in cooperation with SchuldHulpMaatje is offering the webinar 'Getting started with money worries as a church in 5 steps'. The webinar will be held on Monday 24 June from 8pm to 9pm and participation is free.
Talking about financial problems
Major events in our lives, such as illness or loss of a partner, can have financial consequences and lead to money problems. Research shows that people with money worries wait an average of five years before asking for help. Therefore, it is important that someone close to them asks the question in time: Will you manage?
Starter pack 'Will you make it?'
The church should be the place where the question of whether people need help can be asked in all involvement and safety. The webinar 'Getting started with money worries as a church in 5 steps' explains how to identify and discuss money worries, how to offer support and how to cooperate with SchuldHulpMaatje and/or HipHelpt. Finally, it is explained how the starter kit 'Lets you cope' can be used as a tool. This package contains ready-to-use materials to help church members look out for each other during major events such as illness, break-ups and loss of income.
