On D.V. Saturday evening 14 March, Minne Veldman from Urk will give an organ concert on the beautiful Nijsse organ in the Christian Reformed Church in Drogeham.

It promises to be a beautiful concert with a varied programme, which will include singing together. The start time is 8 pm. Admission is €10.00. Children up to 12 years old are free. Everyone is welcome.

Minne Veldman (born 1980) received his musical training at the Zwolle conservatoire. With some fifty organ concerts a year at home and abroad, he is a much sought-after concert organist. To date, he has given over 850 organ concerts. Veldman plays a different programme each concert. As a result, his annual repertoire consists of some three to four hundred different pieces.

Twenty CDs of his organ playing have been released and there are hundreds of videos of his organ playing on the internet. He also performed as organist and conductor in the TV programme Nederland Zingt and gave concerts in France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Canada, America and South Africa.

Minne Veldman has been church organist since 1994, first in Hasselt and since 1998 in the Rehobothkerk in Urk. He also gives organ lessons and conducts two male choirs in Hardenberg and Drachten, two mixed choirs in Urk and Nieuwleusen and children's choir De Blijde Stem in Urk.

Velman composes and arranges a lot of organ music and choral music. His works for organ include a 28-part series of choral arrangements.
