A school with a mission
In eastern Malawi, a number of Christian entrepreneurs started a relief project. They are making 400 hectares of land available to 600 families to grow soya and maize. The children have to walk very far to a school far away in the countryside. Therefore, a small school has been started and church services are held. This prepares the children for a self-sufficient future.
Why this project?
The project's Christian primary school educates 300 children. Thus, the children receive vocational education by Christian teachers. Every week, with parental permission, they tell a Bible story, learn a song and a Bible text.
Impact
The children's parents, mostly Muslims, often did not attend school. The children do get a chance, and with it a chance for a better life in which they can support themselves.
