Since 2010, we have supported the Église Protestante Reformée du Burundi (EPRB). We help equip these congregations to be Reformed. We do so by providing financial support for Bible courses taught by pastors and by supporting two theology students with scholarships.
In 2024, an influential (read rich) person illegally appropriated the leadership of the church. He managed to secure government approval. This prompted us to suspend any financial support and wait for the church leadership to put its house in order. This situation has still not come to an end. Until we have certainty about the church's legitimate leadership, no money will go to Burundi.
It is sad to note this. Burundi is a poverty-stricken country. Money can then easily play a wrong role. Faithful prayer enables a lot. Therefore, pray for the people of Burundi and for the EPRB!
